Families gather around University of Utah Health’s AirMed helicopter during the event in June 2025.

Community members will have a rare opportunity to see University of Utah Health’s largest AirMed helicopter up close when it lands at the ARUP Blood Services Sandy Donor Center on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. The free event will feature tours of the helicopter, time to meet the AirMed crew, opportunities to donate blood, displays from emergency responders, and more family-friendly activities.

“We are so excited about this collaboration with the University of Utah AirMed services,” said Deb Jordan, community relations supervisor at ARUP Blood Services. “ARUP is the sole provider of blood products for the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, and that includes the AirMed helicopters.”

Eligible attendees have the option to donate blood during the event and can make an appointment ahead of time by using the Donor Portal or calling 801-584-5272.

  • U of U Health Trauma department staff

There will also be free giveaways, including canvas tote bags for the first 300 attendees.
