New Location

The donor center for ARUP Blood Services in Salt Lake City is moving to a new location in early January (anticipated open date is January 8, 2019). The donor center will still be in Research Park and will be just two blocks west at 565 Komas. The new donor center will be located in the southwest corner of the building and will be expanded to offer more donor beds, platelet beds, and interview rooms to meet the increasing need for donors to help patients at our hospitals.

In the last several years, the hospitals that ARUP provides blood to have increased their need for platelets by 62 percent and whole blood by 25 percent. ARUP Blood Services is the sole blood provider to more than 7,000 patients each year at Primary Children’s Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Hospital, University Hospital, and Shriners Hospital for Children. More than 100 donors are needed each day to give blood to help patients in need in Utah.

The donor center will be open for operations on Sunday, January 6, 2019 and then closed to move on Monday, January 7, 2019 and back open for donations on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
